RUKA NORDIC

FIS World Cup Ruka Nordic is a World Cup competition for Nordic Combined, Ski Jumping and Cross Country. The event is attended by up to 400 from 30 different countries, and it gathers audience across the world.


The challenge

Each year, the event must reach their set target groups and medias, as well as maintain relations with international operators and representatives. Marketing and communications must develop according to current trends: media services must be maintained to support the needs of media representatives at the event, and marcoms must find the right platforms for distributing information and reaching the audiences.

Solutions

Our team creates schedules for communications and social media of the event, with emphasis on the current trends and topics of the sport. We are also present at the event during the competition week, so we can ensure the functioning facilities and services for media and affiliates.

Implementation

The starting points of the campaign are defined during spring well before the event, after the exact dates and competitions of the World Cup have been confirmed by FIS. The yearly plan takes account of the different target groups, plus all the needs of marketing & communications. The marketing team will also collaborate with other affiliates, such as Finnish Ski Association.

Results

The event has grown a lot during the years, and its communications have become more versatile through new channels and platforms of social media. The continuing long term co-operation makes the developing of the event possible by evaluation and comparing the results to the past competitions.
